Making friends - Be Friendly
Are you happy with your social life? If the answer is no, there is one simple change you can make. Be friendly.
We have all had a previous friend who invites us out, plans events for us to attend and maybe even calls up on a us to remind us about something we missed or are late for. What happens when this somebody goes missing from your life? This person may have moved away due to a job change or left for college. Many times you end up with less social activities to be involved in.
Maybe its time for a change and you need to be more like this person. What makes this person different? Here are a few tips to be more friendly and improve your social life:
- Be more of a doer and less of a follower. People with great social lives tend to be more active when it comes to their social life.
- Say hello to a new person.
- Reach out to past friends, invite them to go hang out or catch up.
- Be inclusive. People tend to gravitate towards people who are attractive, funny and sociable. Maybe its time to give someone else a chance that you would not normally befriend.
- Do not fear rejection. Some people may be busy or tied down with other responsbilities.
- Smile. Smiling conveys that you are happy and if you are looking for new friends, looking unhappy may prevent people from wanting to be more socially involved with you.
We hope these tips help. Improving your social life is an active process. Do not forget!
